What Permission Sets and Licenses Are Required to Implement RCA?

Before diving into the configuration, it's essential to understand the permissions and licenses needed for Revenue Cloud Advanced (RCA) in Salesforce. Below is a list of the important permission sets and licenses you’ll need to implement RLM effectively.

Each of these permissions and licenses plays a critical role in ensuring smooth operations across product configuration, pricing, contracts, and order management.


How do we configure Products?

Setting up products in Revenue Cloud Advanced requires organizing them into catalogs and categories. Here's a basic workflow for product configuration:

  1. Create Catalog: Organize products into specific catalogs and categories for easier management and retrieval.

    1. Search Product Catalog Management in App Launcher 

    2. Click on Home Tab and Select Catalog. 

    3. Create Catalog

  1. Create Category:

    1. Search Product Catalog Management in App Launcher 

    2. Click on Home Tab and Select Category. 

    3. Create Category. 



  1. Create Product and Assign Category: After defining your categories, create the product and associate it with the relevant category.

    1. Search Product Catalog Management in App Launcher 

    2. From the app navigation menu, Select Products 

    3. Click on New button

    4. Go to Related tab on Product to assign category


  1. Define Product Selling Model and Price Book Entry: Define the selling model (e.g., subscription, one-time) and link it to the appropriate price book entry.

    1. Go to related tab on Product. 

    2. Create Product Selling Model. 

    3. Go to related tab on Product. 

    4. Create Price book entry. 



  1. Assign Product Classification (for Products with Attributes): If your product has multiple attributes, assign the appropriate classification to ensure accurate configuration.

    1. If Product have attributes, then assign product classification. 

    2. Search Product Catalog Management in App Launcher. 

    3. From the app navigation menu, select Product classification. 

    4. Create new Product Classification. 


 

How to Set Up a Validation Rule?

Validation rules help ensure that product configurations adhere to predefined criteria. Here’s how to set one up:

  1. Enable Configuration Rule in Revenue Settings: In Salesforce, enable the setup configuration rule under Revenue Cloud settings.

  2. Create Validation Rule: Define the specific criteria products must meet before they can be added to an order.
